Based in central Newcastle, our escape rooms are perfect for corporate events, work nights out and team building within the North East. Whether you're a small business or a large organisation, private or public sector we can tailor a package that will give your organisation a fun and rewarding experience. If you are feeling competitive we can even set you off at the same time so all the teams can race each other with room difficulty, time taken and number of hints combining to give an overall score and a winning team!

What skills are needed in today's workforce? You need great teamwork - no-one can do it on their own these days. You need good communication - listening to everyone’s ideas, not just the loudest. You need people who can think outside the box, work together efficiently, quickly and be cool under pressure.
At The Escape Key your colleagues will be locked in rooms for an hour. They have to solve around 20 interlinked problems - some verbal, some numerical and some skill based. The puzzle are tough, the games are set in immersive atmospheres and it's against the clock!
You need the same skills to escape from our rooms as you need for today's successful businesses - teamwork, communication, creative thinking and working to deadlines. But they are so hard to teach from a whiteboard. They need to be really experienced, ideally experienced together with work colleagues in a pressured environment.

How long does it last?
A team building experience with The Escape Key typically lasts around one hour twenty minutes including introductions and debriefings.
How many people can take part?
Up to 28 people can do the escape rooms at the same time all in the same venue but we can accommodate larger groups. For groups over 28 persons simply divide your group so that the second half start after the first half finish. Note that we need 30 minutes to reset the rooms ready for the second group.
Is it claustrophobic?
Our escape games are spacious and consist of three to five individual rooms so you're unlikely to feel like you're confined in a small space. If anyone felt uncomfortable they can tell us and your gamesmaster will unlock the door immediately.
Can we offer anything else?
Yes, there is the opportunity for some additional team building activities in the same building. This can be prior to or after your escape room or afterwards and for groups over 28 these lively activities can take place at the same time as the escape room activity. We have plenty of weird and wonderful team building activities to keep you entertained. Ever tried playing a song using only fruit and veg or gone head-to-head in a battle of extreme cup stacking? Refreshments can also be provided. Please note additional charges apply for these activities and refreshments. Please call if you are interested.
